Mid Week Inspiration - Santa, The Big Guy

Good morning everyone and welcome to the Mid Week Inspiration for our current challenge theme which this time is a rather inky and glimmery creation which I hope you'll like.

The background paper was made with a panel of watercolour paper which I coloured with Distress Stains in Peacock Feathers, Tumbled Glass and Crushed Olive. I found that if you coat the watercolour paper with water before pressing into the ink stains on a craft sheet the colours spread much more freely. Repeat this step until the paper is covered.
I then embossed the panel with a Darice snowflake swirl corner design, turning the card upside down to emboss the other side. I then brushed the raised areas with Brilliance Galaxy Gold ink wihich gave lots of lovely shimmer.
I stamped the Crafty Individuals Santa collage with VersaFine Smokey Gray ink on to thick, smooth cartridge paper and coloured it with Distress Stains. I cut it out with deckle scissors to leave a border and added it to a red card mat.
I added the background paper to a red card mat and then attached the panel to a white square card blank and finished off with a computer generated greeting on a red mat.

You still have a few days left to enter the challenge and hope to see you there.

Autumn Flowers - Mid Week Inspiration

Hello there, if you're stuck for some inspiration for the current Autumn Flowers challenge please read on as I have another card to share with you that is a little simpler than my other card shown on Monday.

The background here is made very simply by inking up a small square acrylic block with Dried Marigold and Crushed Olive Distress inks to make a check style paper and I ten punched 3 of the corners with a daisy corner rounder punch.
The daisies by Hobby Art were stamped with sepia ink and coloured with Promarkers and pencils. I then cut them out and added them to a small round doily.
I stamped the sentiment (also Hobby Art) directly on the background paper with the sepia ink and added all the elements to the card blank.

Thank you to all who have entered so far - some fabulous creations and lovely to have you join us.
Hugs,
Fliss xx

Vintage Style Mid Week Motivation

Hello there folks, a slightly belated midweek motivation post here for my Vintage Style challenge this week as I forgot to take a photo yesterday and the light today went from dull and drizzly to brilliant sunshine (neither of which are liked by my camera) in a short space of time!
For this card I've gone for pink with my sepia and cream to make a very feminine creation. Without further ado, here it is!

I've used an old favourite Rubber Stampede image stamped with sepia ink on cream card and trimmed with deckle edged scissors. I added this to a mat of dusky pink card.
I covered my card blank with some pretty paper by Melissa Frances that came free with a magazine a while back, having inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress ink and adding Paperchase kraft paper photo corners before sticking on.
I made the floral decoration by stamping a Papermania layered decoupage wild rose image on pink paper and cut out the pieces, layereing up with a copper brad and inking a little with Victorian Velvet Distress ink.
I added some cream crochet lace to the card, then sticking on the image panel and flower, finishing off with a heart stick pink with some butterflies added.

Hoping that you like this and that it will encourage some more entries.
Hugs,
Fliss xx

Mid-Week Motivation for a Non-Inked Stamp or New Decoupage

Every week on a Wednesday the Design Team member of Make My Monday, who chose the challenge theme provides you with a Mid- Week Motivation project to hopefully guide, instruct or simply inspire you. I decided to make 3 bookmarks where I have used the same new stamp but in different ways, hoping to give that inspiration if you need it.

The Bookmark on the LEFT is a simple Monochrome approach, using a white piece of card, and a black ink pad for the stamp. I have also added further interest stamping a few leaves from another set of stamps. I dragged around the outer edge with the chisel nib of a black marker pen. Added fibres and ribbons.
The CENTRE example shows how my adding pretty papers to your bookmark, you don't need to add any further colouring to the background. I have only coloured the birds, made a small flower using a stamp and again added fibres and ribbon.
The final bookmark on the RIGHT is more of a Vintage style, I coloured the background with TH Distress inks Old Paper, Frayed Burlap, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain. All the stamping was done using a black ink pad. I added a piece of lace and a fancy button, along with the fibres and ribbon to embellish it.
Stamps Used----
Left -Bird Cage with two birds from Inkylicious. My non - inked stamp.
Left - Leaves - Paperartsy - Flora and Fauna 3
Centre -The small flower - from Dreamees
Right Border top and bottom from La Blanche stamps.
