Steampunk Mid Week Motivation

Hi everyone it's Suzi here with mid week motivation.  I used Graphic 45 steampunk papers, Dezinaworld digis (butterflies)  and a cupcake holder. I hope you join us with this fun theme. I've given you  some Steampunk definitions, there are loads, I tried to find the ones suitable for crafters! but my time was limited :)

To help you understand the world of Steampunk  think all things Victorian, steam power, cogs and wheels, whimsy, romance, science fiction, lace, leather  etc etc. use lots of imagination and have fun!

This is a fabulous Sreampunk digi  image from June of Dezinworld fame, printed onto glossy photo paper and cut out.

The white butterlies have been cut from a cupcake holder. I cut off the bottom of the "skirt" from the main image off the gorgeous Steampunk lady, then repositioned it so that it peeped from under the flowery frame

A quote
“To me, it’s essentially the intersection of technology and romance.” – Jake von Slatt

Steampunk is an aesthic and a subculture based around the idea of alternative history and fantasy versions of the past. It is Victorian-inspired and influenced, with a heavy emphasis on clockwork gadgets, steam power, airships and other steam-age technologies, all with a science fiction twist. Steampunk costumes and accessories tend to include Victorian-style items such as top hats or corsets, along with lots of straps, goggles, leather and brass -- and the ever-present clockwork.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Elegant Lady... Mid Week Motivation

Hello and welcome from me Suzi B to Mid Week Motivation. I've used Stampotiques Angel stamp by Daniel Torrente because I think she's quite elegant... what do you think? So here she is in her shabby palace posing elegantly in her fraying dress with shabby curtains, threadbare carpet  and very large cat!

I hope this gives you a different slant on my elegant ladies theme and it encourages you to have a go and have some fun!
I did :)

Vintage Style Mid Week Motivation

Hello there folks, a slightly belated midweek motivation post here for my Vintage Style challenge this week as I forgot to take a photo yesterday and the light today went from dull and drizzly to brilliant sunshine (neither of which are liked by my camera) in a short space of time!
For this card I've gone for pink with my sepia and cream to make a very feminine creation. Without further ado, here it is!

I've used an old favourite Rubber Stampede image stamped with sepia ink on cream card and trimmed with deckle edged scissors. I added this to a mat of dusky pink card.
I covered my card blank with some pretty paper by Melissa Frances that came free with a magazine a while back, having inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress ink and adding Paperchase kraft paper photo corners before sticking on.
I made the floral decoration by stamping a Papermania layered decoupage wild rose image on pink paper and cut out the pieces, layereing up with a copper brad and inking a little with Victorian Velvet Distress ink.
I added some cream crochet lace to the card, then sticking on the image panel and flower, finishing off with a heart stick pink with some butterflies added.

Hoping that you like this and that it will encourage some more entries.
Hugs,
Fliss xx
