Vintage Travel Mid week motivation

Hello every one it's Suzi b here and its my turn to provide the mid week motivation.
I thought I'd have a go at making tissue tape using masking tape. OK so masking tape isn't tissue paper, but it could do a similar job!  Lets have a go.

I wanted to make  mail art using this envelope but off course being a vintage theme I needed to cover the red lettering. I covered it firstly with two layers of masking tape that had been blended over with DI Vintage Photo and Tea Die. I then did the same to a third piece of masking tape and over stamped with a vintage travel map stamp.
This is how it looked before I peeled  the tape off the craft mat

The finished envelope is much more grungy than I intended so it's Steam Punk Vintage Travel !
Have a go at using masking tape to make your own tissue tape.. then it can be any colour any theme.
I've no idea what other people use when making tissue tape
perhaps I'll pop across to You Tube to find out.

I've been having a play!
Sorry :o(  lots of pictures

Mid-Way Motivation - Vintage Childhood

Good morning everybody

This week is is my turn to produce the mid-week motivation piece.  I decided to produce a tag instead of  card, and basically it follows on from the theme I used for my DT card in the challenge on Monday.  I distinctly remember have a dress like this, and this was certainly me having been told off for doing something I should not have been - all innocent and butter wouldn't melt ....

I have used a Ranger tag and inked with peacock blue, tumbled glass and wild honey distress inks, brushing them on rather than with a blending tool as I wanted a soft background.  I stamped the little girl with brown Momento ink, masked her, and then stamps the Mason's jar around her.  The dress has been coloured with a distress pen .  Some swirls were stamped around the edge, and the edges finished off with distress ink in tea dye.  I roughly inked the lace with tea dye, and also the pink roses.  As i said a very simple piece of work.

MMM - Meet the Guest Designer

Morning all hope everyone is happy to be back at MMM and loving our fabulous new vintage theme for this month.
Today I would like to introduce you to our Guest Designer

me

Here are a few words from the lady herself

I was really chuffed and very honoured to be asked to be a GDT for the Make My Monday challenge blog.  They have some brilliant themes and gorgeous DT inspiration and so I love to play along when I can.

Now, I have never been bored in my life ever!  From a very early age I was always ‘up to something crafty’, sewing clothes for my dolls, drawing, painting, tapestry, embroidery, making jewellery and learning to make anything for myself that I could.  I got into card-making about 9 years ago, and like to try lots of different styles – except CAS!! lol.

I think essentially I am quite girly and feminine and very much a ‘more is more’ kind of gal.  I love making my own flowers, adding stitching to my cards and playing about with dies (my favourite things!).  I can spend hours on one project, as its not about a race to the finish, its about how you get there and what you learn along the way for me.

I love visiting other crafters blogs as they are an unlimited source of inspiration and beauty.

Please visit Alison's blog and take a look - I found some lovely work over there. Here are some of my favourites

If you would like to be a Guest designer on Make My Monday all you have to do is enter our weekly challenges - if you get get chosen as a Top 3 winner you will be in the running for GDT. Why not start now - we have a brand new monthly theme and Vintage Fashion challenge right now - just click HERE for all the details.
